The West African Citizens Awards (WAFRIC Awards) is proud to officially unveil the nominees for the 2026 edition, a distinguished gathering of individuals, brands, organizations, and institutions whose work, influence, creativity, leadership, and contributions continue to make a meaningful difference across West Africa.

This edition is built on a simple but powerful belief: great work deserves recognition, wherever it comes from.

Some of our nominees have built remarkable careers and earned recognition within their fields. Others are making significant contributions that may not yet receive the attention they deserve. Together, they represent the many faces of excellence across West Africa.

It is about looking beyond visibility and celebrating impact, merit, excellence, and meaningful contribution — whether that work is already widely recognized or quietly making a difference.

Our nominees represent the diversity, resilience, creativity, ambition, and spirit of West Africa. From media and communication to business, entertainment, technology, leadership, humanitarian service, culture, tourism, sports, and beyond, they reflect the exceptional work taking place across our communities and nations.

Nominations were received through members of the public and members of the WAFRIC Awards Jury, with nominees considered across the various award categories.
