West African Citizens Awards 2026 — Recognizing the Unseen, Celebrating the Exceptional

The West African Citizens Awards (WAFRIC Awards) is committed to recognizing outstanding achievements, professional excellence, creativity, leadership, and meaningful contributions across West Africa.

The WAFRIC Awards 2026 voting process is designed to encourage public participation while maintaining a merit-based final selection process. The following procedures explain how public voting will be conducted, how finalists will emerge, and how the final winners will be determined.

1. Voting Period

Public voting for WAFRIC Awards 2026 will commence on October 12, 2026, and close on November 15, 2026, covering a five week voting period.

All votes must be submitted within the official voting period. Votes submitted after the deadline will not be counted.

2. Voting Eligibility

Voting is open to members of the public worldwide. Individuals may participate regardless of their country of residence, provided they comply with the established voting rules.

Participation is completely free. WAFRIC Awards does not require voters to make payments to cast votes for their preferred nominees.

No email verification or voter account registration is required to participate in public voting.

3. Voting Platform and Procedure

Voting will be conducted through the official WAFRIC Awards voting pages, using the designated StrawPoll voting polls.

Each award category will have its own voting poll, allowing voters to select their preferred nominee in each category.

To vote:

  1. Visit the official WAFRIC Awards website and access the voting section.
  2. Select the award category you wish to participate in.
  3. Review the nominees listed in that category.
  4. Select your preferred nominee and submit your vote.
  5. Repeat the process for other categories in which you wish to participate.

Voters are encouraged to review the nominees carefully before submitting their votes.

4. Voting Frequency and Restrictions

Each voter may vote once every 24 hours in each award category throughout the official voting period.

The voting system uses IP-address-based restrictions to limit repeated voting within the applicable period. Voters should observe the restrictions provided by the voting platform.

Voting is free, and no payment is required to increase a nominee’s vote count.

5. Selection of Finalists

At the conclusion of public voting, the three nominees with the highest numbers of valid votes in each category will advance to the finalist stage.

Public voting serves to determine the finalists and provides an opportunity for the public to participate in the recognition process.

The three finalists in each category will subsequently proceed to the final assessment stage.

In the event of a tie affecting the third qualifying position, WAFRIC Awards will review the relevant results and determine the appropriate resolution before confirming the finalists.

6. Final Winner Selection

Public voting does not automatically determine the eventual winner of an award category.

Following the announcement of the top three finalists, the WAFRIC Awards jury will conduct a separate assessment to determine the winner of each category.

The jury’s assessment will consider the finalists’ achievements, records, contributions, and other relevant standards applicable to their respective categories.

The detailed assessment framework, including the standards used to determine the winners, will be published separately under the title “WAFRIC Awards 2026 Winning Criteria” after the conclusion of public voting.

Consequently, receiving the highest number of public votes does not guarantee that a nominee will win the award. Each finalist will be considered through the separate final assessment process.

7. Integrity of the Voting Process

WAFRIC Awards encourages fair participation and responsible campaigning throughout the voting period.

All votes must be submitted through the designated official voting polls and in accordance with the applicable platform restrictions.

Attempts to manipulate voting results or circumvent the established voting restrictions are inconsistent with the principles of a fair awards process.

WAFRIC Awards reserves the right to review voting results and address irregularities before confirming the finalists.

8. Announcement of Finalists and Winners

Following the close of voting, the results will be reviewed before the top three finalists in each category are officially confirmed and announced.

The finalists will then proceed to the jury assessment stage, after which the winners will be determined in accordance with the separately published Winning Criteria.

Advancing to the finalist stage does not constitute a guarantee of winning an award.

9. General Provisions

By participating in the WAFRIC Awards 2026 public voting process, voters agree to observe these procedures and any applicable instructions displayed on the official voting pages.

WAFRIC Awards reserves the right to clarify or address procedural matters that arise during the voting process, provided that the integrity of the process is maintained.

Any official updates concerning the voting process will be communicated through WAFRIC Awards’ recognized platforms.

Recognizing Excellence Across West Africa

WAFRIC Awards celebrates the individuals, businesses, organizations, and professionals whose achievements contribute to the development, creativity, and progress of West Africa.

We encourage the public to participate responsibly, support their preferred nominees, and join us in recognizing exceptional contributions across the region.
